Since Woodies was already on the way to be a household name in Sonora, it was essential to not change the core of what made woodies work, but expand on that.
I needed to understand who their target audience was, what their needs and preferences were, and how they would interact with their website on different devices and contexts. I also needed to create a clear and intuitive user interface that guides them through the buying process and provides them with relevant information and features.
I also needed to find the right balance between aesthetic appeal and functionality. We wanted the website to look professional and attractive, but also to load fast, perform well, and offer a smooth user experience and also consider how my design elements affect the site’s SEO, accessibility, and conversion rates.
To create a seamless and easy transition to the website, I studied how the business interacted with their clients on Instagram and WhatsApp. I also negotiated a deal with DHL for shipping the products across Mexico and the US. Shopify was the ideal platform for building this website, as it met all our needs and helped us turn a popular business into a nationwide brand that has attracted celebrities and top restaurants.
This project was a valuable learning experience for me, as I was still new to UI UX design. I learned from my mistakes and successes, and I’m proud of the outcome. Woodies is a very successful website that reflects my growth as a designer.
